FAQs about Delivering Meals for Corporate Volunteers
MOWMC is a nonprofit nutrition program serving homebound seniors and adults with disabilities. We provide hot, nutritious meals and daily check-ins that support health, safety, and social connection.
We're proud members of Meals on Wheels America, delivering meals Monday through Friday, year-round.
Who Receives Meals?
Our participants are homebound and unable to shop, cook, or prepare meals. Most are over 60, and no one is turned away based on age alone.
What’s Expected of Meal Delivery Volunteers?
- Pick up meals at Rider University (Daly Dining Hall) between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM on your designated day.
- Deliver to 10–15 participants along a planned route.
- Deliver kindness along with meals, even a few minutes of friendly conversation can be meaningful.
How Will Volunteers Be Trained?
- Our Volunteer Director will provide in-person training.
- Volunteers will complete a brief online form and undergo a background check.
- New volunteers are paired with seasoned volunteers and are taken on route for meal delivery.
What If I Get Lost on My Route?
- Each route comes with step-by-step directions and maps.
- A MOWMC staff member is available during pickup to answer questions.
- Emergency contact numbers are included with your materials.
